Friday night football!!!

All of us went to the local high school football game last night. The Wilmot Panthers went into the game last night 0-4 against a team that was 3-1. It was also homecoming...so there were TONS of people there. Although Wilmot is a very small town, the high school is large because all of the small communities send their kids there. I think there are around 3,000 students grades 9-12??? The point is, it is quite a large school. Justin was amazed they had at least 35 cheerleaders...our high school topped out at 10. We had to leave the game at half time because Carter decided he had had enough. Wilmot was already down 31-0, so we didn't feel too bad leaving. Tonight our friends Dan, Clara, and their daughter Annalise are coming out to eat dinner with us. Mom is making a fantastic turkey dinner and I made a homemade pecan pie. Enjoy the pics!

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to share with everyone...Carter slept completely through the night last night for the first time ever!!!!!!!!!!!! Many of you know that I have done LOTS of research on this and found that some babies sleep and some don't. We have been blessed with a child that is so inquisitive, that he must check things out even at night. Since night weaning, he has been sleeping better and better. He went to bed last night around 8pm and did not wake up until 5:20am. He came into our bed until 6:15 and then started his day. We are also blessed with an early riser, but I think that will really help when he has to get up for school. Thanks for letting me share this with all of you. After 13 months of not one full nights sleep, this is a reason for celebrating! Enjoy a couple more pics I didn't get to post yesterday.

I have been receiving a lot of phone calls telling me how mean it was for me to post the video of my mom snoring. First of all, I never would have posted it without her permission. I told her I was doing it and made sure it was okay. Second, my Mom has such a great sense of humor. I knew she would find it funny and given the chance...would do the same damn thing to me!!! Third, my ticket to burn in hell was signed in July when Justin and I hid condoms from the health department all over her vehicle and in her wallet. She went to the local gas station, opened her wallet and almost died on the spot because a condom was clipped right on top!!! She then proceeded to hide them in my purse and luggage, in my lunchbox, and even mailed one to Justin in his birthday card. So I guess payback did come in some form. I find it wonderful that my Mom can have fun with us and definitely has no fear of retaliating...so I am sure something will be coming my way for the whole snoring video on the Internet, and also the condom thing!

Today we went to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It is about 20 miles west of us and a pretty popular tourist destination. It is very much like Couer d'Alene or my mom described it as Leavenworth on a lake. We bought Carter some new soft soled shoes, did some gawking, and then had a great lunch. There are also some random pics from the last couple days. Is there a dragon in the house??

Karma is going to come back and kick mine and Justin's butts one day. The following is an account and proof of what happened last night.

Justin and I were watching a movie last night when we heard a strange noise. My mom and Carter were both in bed. We paused the movie and listened carefully. There was a rumbling noise coming from downstairs. As Binka the Cat would ask on Carter's favorite cartoon: "Was it a dragon?" As we sat there, we realized it is not a dragon, it is Grandma Mary snoring!!! This in itself is funny, but what makes it even more funny is the fact that Grandma Mary has sworn for years SHE DOES NOT SNORE! Grandpa Russ has always says he wakes up to the sound of buzz saws going off next to him, but Grandma still swears: "I don't snore!!" She says he is the one snoring and waking himself up. Hmmmm....how could we prove Grandma Mary snores??? See below... :)

Fall is here...kind of.

It is finally starting to look like fall around here. The leaves are starting to change, high school football games are every Friday night, but something is still missing. Oh right, THE COLD!!! I am a west coast girl. Starting in September, it gets cooler...sweatshirt weather, which I love. There is nothing better than wearing just a sweatshirt for about a month or so. Not in Wisconsin. Yesterday it was 82 degrees here!!!!!!!!! Justin, Carter and I went to high school football game in the beginning of September and we wore shorts and t-shirts! I hope it starts to get a little cooler so I can enjoy sweatshirt weather before we get to parka weather! (I guess I should be happy that it is not snowing.)

You caught me!


Mmmm...tomato pie. (Tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, moz. cheese, parm. cheese, and bread crumbs. It is kind of like a pizza.) The recipe is from Meredith and it was delicious! The tomatoes and basil are from our garden, so it tastes that much better.

The Racine Zoo

After a VERY EARLY morning, we all went to the Racine Zoo today. I was up with indigestion from 3am-5am and then Carter got the whole house up at 6am. He slept on the way to the zoo so he could enjoy all the animals. We saw monkeys, lions, tigers, a rhino, giraffes, penquins, mountain goats, kangaroos, and some farm animals! Carter's favorite animals were definitely the monkeys. We had to go back to the primate part before we left for a second tour. We are going to take a day of rest tomorrow and will see where the rest of the week takes us. I hope you enjoy the pics!
