The life of a teething Babe...

So Carter is teething like mad. His bottom two teeth have been in for awhile, one front tooth worked its way last week and now the other front tooth is cutting. He is also recovering from his mosquito bites (see previous post) so all in all, today was NOT a good day for Mr. Carter. He was pretty cranky and tired...he was up every 1-2 hours last night and only napped for an hour and a half today, which equals tired Mommy and Daddy too. So to all you parents out there with teething children...I know your pain. Enjoy the pics! :)

The one on the left came in last week and the one on the right is cutting right now.

I can smile once and awhile Mommy!

Damn Mosquitoes...part 2!

Poor Carter...he seems to be allergic to mosquitoes just like his mother. Yesterday Carter had a couple mosquitoes on him which I promptly swatted away. He played in the front yard for awhile and then when we got back from our walk last night I killed a mosquito on his face and blood went everywhere. I thought maybe one had gotten him...I was wrong...MANY got him!! His poor little face has about 8-10 bites on the right side. He is also teething, so our weekend has been interesting! I am really trying to be optimistic about living in Wisconsin, but these DAMN mosquitoes are making it really hard! Everyone keeps saying this is just a really bad year for them, I am not sure if I should believe them or not. On a lighter note...should Carter's new nickname be Spot?? :)

I am going to be walking soon!

My poor baby...

Don't worry Mommy, I am still cute!

The bites are driving him crazy!

A side profile. All the bites are on his right side.

This is my car that Daddy pushes me on and I walk behind it all over the house!

Beep, Beep, here I come!

He has perfected the graceful exit!

Officially Wisconsin residents!!

So those of you that I talk to on a consistent basis know the war I have been waging with the Wisconsin DMV. For those of you who don't...the SHORT version: To get a Wisconsin driver's license you used to just need your old driver's license and proof of residency...NOW you HAVE to have your old driver's license, proof of residency (utlities bill, paycheck from state, bank statement from a Wisconsin bank), a STATE or COUNTY issued birth certificate (not the one from the hospital...I was told that was JUST A SOUVENIER), and a social security card. After NUMEROUS trips there over the last year, we FINALLY got our driver's licenses. They claim it is fight terrorism. I think it is to discourage people from coming to the state. Now I see why Brett Favre wants to leave this state! Stupid state of Wisconsin...

Enjoy the pics of our house and plants! I love seeing all the flowers pop up...it is like Christmas!

My beefsteak tomato plant and basil plants.

My and Justin's little garden.

Mmmmmm...Basil!

I have an eggplant growing!

Justin's chili pepper plant...doesn't it look like a christmas tree?

Another shot...he wants to make a really hot chili with this and his habenero peppers...he is going to kill us all with it!

Our backyard. We are composting in the old pool area and next year are going to build a very nice round brick and stone sitting area/firepit.

This will look much nicer next year with all the brick and stone. I LOVE all the flowers..are they a form of lily?? I am not sure??

My clematis that I need to take better care of next year. I realized what it was too late and cannot separate it to have it grow through the wall.

Picture of lily?? Does anyone know what these are??

They are all over our yard and very pretty.

They are in all different colors.

Our backyard. I am standing in the pool area, garden is on the right, my wysteria is climbing the patio roof and my hosta garden is straight ahead.

Another shot of the flowers around the pool area...I cannot wait to make it prettier!

My wysteria!

Our compost pile, flowers, and tree house.

My hosta garden.

The pathway along the side of the garage. Eventually we are going to have to tear the brick out.

Very tall and pretty flowers...not sure what they are?

More hostas on the other side of the house.

Another pretty flower.

Another shot of our pathway.

Home from vacation...

We are now home from vacation in Washington. We had a great time visiting with everyone! Justin went fishing and 4-wheeler riding with his Dad and brother. I got to shop and hang out with my family. We also had a 4th of July picnic, a fish fry at Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's, a ride up to Mt. St Helens, many campfires at Grandma and Grandpa Hovey's, and a 1st birthday party for Carter! I have to make this quick as Carter has decided he does not want to wait for me to finish this! Overall we had a great trip and are looking forward to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's visit in August, Meredith and Ty in September and Grandma Mary at the end of September. Enjoy the pics! (I have some videos, but will have to post them later.)

Ole!!!

Daddy getting Carter ready for his party after his nap!
Mmmmm....cake!

What is this?? Mommy doesn't usually let me have this...

Are we ready yet?

Daddy, Uncle Trevor, Carter, and Aunt Misty's birthdays are all in July and August...so we had one party!

Somebody get a fire extinguisher...

Max showing Carter how it is done!

Playing in Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's pond...

This went on for a very long time!

More cake!
This used to be a road near Kalama Horse Camp by Mt. St. Helens.

This creek washed the entire road out.

Kind of gross...but it is a pic of a dead elk. We heard a lot of them did not make it through the winter and spring.

Happy Carter...

Pissy Carter...I love this pic!
Look at the waves from this ship...amazing!

I miss this view.

We don't have these in Wisconsin.
