The first 32 hours...
So far not nursing has been going VERY WELL!! We really thought last night would be a bad night, but Carter fell asleep about 15 minutes...for an hour. Then he cried for at least an hour...finally we got him to sleep by putting him between us and he put one hand on Justin's eyebrow and the other on my eye lash. That was about 10:30. He slept until 3:30!!!!!!!! Then Justin got him back to sleep in 5 minutes and then he slept until 6:15. Overall, our night went VERY GOOD!! I have pumped about 4 times since yesterday morning...so that is going well too. I had my last hospital visit this morning and should hopefully know more about my thyroid uptake scan next week. Carter is now sleeping (I got him to sleep in about 20 minutes...awesome!) so I am going to enjoy my time. I will keep you all posted!

Nuclear Medicine Test
I have my nuclear medicine test, thyroid scan, tomorrow. I can't breastfeed Carter for at least three days because of the radioactive iodine...translation, we won't be sleeping much for the next three days because Carter only nurses now before naps, before bed, and at night. But this is supposed to be the best test to do, so it has to be done. Think happy baby thoughts for us!

Health Update
Hey all. A couple weeks ago I found a lump on my thyroid. I went to the doctor last week and she ordered an ultrasound. That was inconclusive, so I am going to have another test done this week to see if we can tell more about it (a nuclear medicine test). We are not too worried yet because lumps on the thyroid are very common. It could be as simple as a goiter or it could be something more serious. I wanted to let everyone know through here rather than having to make a million phone calls. I should hopefully know more next week and will be updating everything on our blog. If you want more thyroid information, here is a website Justin found: http://www.jameshfshaw.co.nz/thyroid_parathyroid_surgery.html

Fun in the Sun
It was a really nice day yesterday, so we let Carter play in his pool and with the hose. The following pictures are what happened....enjoy!

I want to get out of the pool now!

Okay, back in!

This is kind of fun!

Time to get on the move again.

Discovering the hose via Daddy.

That water is a little cold!!

Cold, but fun!

Who knew a hose could be so much fun.

He is going to hate me someday for taking these pictures!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Johnson!
We owe a HUGE THANK YOU to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson for all their help in painting the house. We never could have gotten it done without them...well, we would have, but it would have been at least a month of work to equal what they got done during their visit. It was very nice to have them here and for them to have some time with Carter. We still have to put trim on the house, but Justin and I will work at that in the next couple weeks. Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa!!

I had to add a couple more pics of the cool dude in his glasses! We actually got him to keep them on for about a minute this time. Dale, Judy, and Justin have been working very hard to get the painting done before the end of the weekend. Hopefully this evening I can post some pics of before paint and after paint. Enjoy!

I am one cool dude!

Daddy is getting ready to drive me really fast across the floor. Ty-when you are here Daddy can drive you really fast too!!!

Enjoying the cake at my birthday party!
Still enjoying cake!
Opening my present from my playgroup friends.
I REALLY like this present!
My new shades from Grandma Mary and Grandpa Russ!
Quite possibly the coolest toy ever...it is a wooden snail Carter got for his birthday from Jake and Chelsea. He has now figured out how to pull it around the house. I could watch it go across the room for hours!!!

Early birthday present!
Carter got his birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa Hovey a little early...a new wagon!! It has two flip up seats and seat belts (yeah!) so Carter can't fall out. We have been cruising him around the house in it and he just grins the whole time! Grandma and Grandpa Johnson got here Monday night and will be here for about two weeks. We are VERY excited to have them here, especially for Carter's first birthday on Sunday. Enjoy the pics...THANKS Grandma Mary and Grandpa Russ!

This is my new ride!

Mmmm...Spaghetti!
Carter has been trying more and more foods. Some of his new favorites are cottage cheese, grapes, and peaches. Another new favorite he tried tonight was spaghetti. He loved chasing the noodles around the food tray, trying to get them into his mouth and munching on the hamburger. We will see how long these remain on his favorite list. Currently, he is refusing to eat chicken, pork, and sweet potato...all past favorites. Oh well...I will just have to try and keep up. Justin was gone all this week in Denver on a business trip and suprised us by calling tonight and saying he would be home around 11pm rather than tomorrow afternoon...YEAH!!!!! We really miss him when he is gone. Carter doesn't sleep as well at night without him here. Carter's crib is in our room. He spends part of the night in there and part of the night in between us. Some nights he wants to stretch out in his crib and other nights he wants to cuddle with us. If he sleeps almost through the night (1-2 wakeups) in between us rather than up 3-5 times because he is in the crib...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where he is going to sleep so we can sleep! :) We live by the rule that we need to enjoy these years of him actually wanting to cuddle and spend time with us...they go by very fast! I have also posted some pics of inside the house. We are painting the outside this summer and will be focusing on inside stuff this winter when we are buried under snow. Enjoy!

Mmmm Mommy, this stuff is good!

Get in my mouth noodle!

He definitely needed a bath tonight.

Notice he had to eat all the noodles first, then focus on the hamburger.

Our newly painted guest room and new bedset. I am going to hang some of our and Trevor's wildlife photos up in here too.

I might need to think about curtains too!

Carter's room. Justin's grandparents gave him the cradle when he was born..ahhhh!

I cannot wait to paint this room this winter.

Currently our storage room, it will become a playroom for this winter.

All the stuff will either go to garage sale or into the crawl space. We are thinking of painting it a green, maybe sage, and getting the college couch back from Andy so Carter has a nice play to play.
