Trying new food!

Mmmmm...Carter is starting to try new food! We have tried rice cereal a couple times and thought everyone would love the pics. Daddy REALLY enjoyed feeding Carter, even though Carter thought he should do it himself. I also am posting a video of Daddy making Carter laugh and Carter imitating a motor boat. All of us had a blast on our trips. Thanks to Aunt Nancy, Jana, and Aunt Linda for keeping Mommy and Carter busy! We loved seeing you all and can't wait to see everyone again!

Announcing Maximus Ellis Hovey!!!!!

Yeah!!!! Max is here!!!!! Aunt Kayla and Uncle Mark welcomed Maximus Ellis Hovey into the world Monday, February 11th via C-section. Mommy, Baby, and Daddy are all doing great. We are SOOOOOOO excited for them. This is Carter's first cousin. We really wish we could have been there, but I know they had a lot of support from both their families and friends. Mommy cannot wait to kiss his little cheeks and tell him stories about his Daddy. Congratulations Mark, Kayla, and Max....we love you all and miss you very much!!!!

Visiting family in New York!

Mommy and Carter made it to New York and have been having a GREAT time visiting with family. We are staying with Mommy's Aunt Nancy and cousin Jana. Mommy's Uncle Tim picked us up from the airport and we have been visiting with him, Aunt Linda, Uncle Dave, Uncle Pete, Aunt Sarah, and Mommy's cousins Staci and Jeremy. Today we went and saw Mommy's Grandma and Grandpa...hope you enjoy the pics! We will post more as we go! Some of the pics are from before we left.

House Hunting and Trip Planning!

This week has just flown by. Mommy, Daddy, and Carter are going to look at houses tomorrow. We are getting serious about finding a place. We want one that is in a nice neighborhood, closer to Daddy's job in Waukegan, and of course in our price range. We will keep everyone posted. Mommy and Carter are also getting ready to head to New York to visit Mommy's aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents!!! They are leaving February 5th and will come back to Wisconsin on February 15th. Carter is very excited to finally meet everyone! I hope you all enjoy the pics. It is COLD here!!

When we woke up this morning it was 0 degrees...VERY cold!! Daddy was very nice and got up with Carter at 6:45 AM and let Mommy sleep until 7:50 AM. Then we hung around the house, went grocery shopping and headed back home. When we got home it was already -1 outside! Tomorrow we are going to go look at some houses and clean around the house a little bit. Don't forget to watch the Green Bay Packers play tomorrow! Carter may have to break out his rally cheese hat...even if the Packers did beat his favorite Seahawks! Hope you all enjoy the pictures.

5 Months old!

Carter is 5 months old today! We cannot believe how fast the months have flown by. Today Mommy and Carter went to a new playgroup at another Mom's house from our hospital playgroup. There were 6 babies there under 8 months old. Carter was a little overwhelmed at first, but he and Mommy ended up having a lot of fun. This weekend is supposed to be COLD. Our high on Saturday is projected to be at 2 degrees!!!! We have to go grocery shopping and that is about it. The Packers play on Sunday...the temp for the game is supposed to be 1 degree...brrrrrr!! We are posting some videos of Carter attempting to scoot on our bed. He is pretty much like an overturned turtle. We think it is pretty cute and hope you all enjoy them!

Finally home and feeling better!!!!

Yeah!!! We are finally home from the holidays AND feeling better. We all enjoyed our trip home. Two weeks was a long time, but we had a lot of fun. We did not take a lot of pictures, but made many memories. Uncle Mark and Aunt Kayla were sick a couple days before Christmas, then Daddy got sick Christmas Eve, Mommy got sick Christmas day, Grandpa Russ got sick a couple days after Christmas, and then Grandma Mary got it last. The only one who did not get sick was Carter!!!! Our flights went very well and we arrived back at home safe and sound on January 1st. It took us a little while to get back into our routine and then last week, Daddy had to take Mommy to the ER very early in the morning because she got Mastitis. For those of you who don't know, Mastitis is a breast infection that made Mommy have flu like symptoms, chills, headache, and it really hurt to nurse. She also got very weak and it was hard to take care of Carter. Daddy stayed home one day with her and then finally a couple days ago she started to feel a lot better. It was an awful experience and so far everything is going okay. We are starting to look at houses out here, but are not in a hurry. We want to make sure we have the house that is for us. We really enjoyed our vacation and thank everyone for their patience with us while we recovered (some people kept reminding us that we had not posted any recent photos...GRANDMA MARY!!!). :) Take care and talk to everyone soon!
